SpiceJet Saturday reviewed the ticket cancellation fees for both domestic and international travel, but remained below the peer group.
“The revised cancellation fees took effect from today,” SpiceJet said.
According to the airline, the cost of cancellation of domestic flights have been revised to Rs 1800 against Rs 1500 earlier while thecancellation fee for international flights now is Rs 2250.
Three months after the decision comes to the other two carriers – Jet Airways and IndiGo – sharply raised the cost of cancellation of tickets, bring them up in some cases by 50 percent to 100 percent.
Following the hike, a passenger cancel a ticket over 2 to 48 hours before departure now have to pay Rs 2250, 50 percent from earlier. A person who canceled 2-7 days before will have to shell out 2,000 rupees, and a person who chooses to 7-30 days before will have to pay 1,500 rupees.
Only customers who cancel 30 days or sooner pay Rs 1250, 20 percent lower than before. Customers who cancel less than two hours before departure will not get any refund.
