GoPro is said to hire Charlotte Koh of Hulu as it seeks to expand its content offerings.
Koh work to form alliances around Hollywood and move to develop new content using GoPro action camera. She told Variety really is about creating a GoPro content banner on top of technology. GoPro shares are up 2.6 percent in afternoon trading.
At GoPro, Ms. Koh, the former head of developing original content on Hulu, will be responsible for finding creative partnerships with Hollywood studios and television networks to produce content with GoPro cameras. Ms. Koh told Variety correspondents that the main objective is to create a ‘content banner on top of the technology. “However, the newly appointed executive did not go into details, because the construction project is GoPro content still at an early stage.
Initially, the push content GoPro mainly revolve around documentaries and other unscripted content. Ms. Koh said the unscripted content creation is relatively fast. At the same time, she does not rule out the development of projects scripted, and said it was still “within the realm of possibility.” Ms. Koh added that GoPro is also working on documentaries airing shows that jointly produced television networks.
