One mistake means a specific text string can completely crash iPhones has led people to take extreme measures to keep your phone safe.
One problem with the way iOS handles notifications means that if people are sent the code – including unusual strange words and symbols and Arabic characters – your phone stops and restarts itself, before becoming unusable. Apple has said it is aware of the problem and is working on a solution, but until then, users have been forced to take the problem into their own hands.
The most dramatic way to avoid the problem is to turn off notifications entirely to the Messages application.
This is done by heading to Settings and then choose Notifications and messages, and slide the activation button for “Allow Notifications” is off and the alert style when unlocked is set to “none”. The messages will appear in Notification Center and as a small badge on the application on the home screen, but not be able to load up as banners and off the phone. Enjoy 🙂
