Google domain was bought for $12 in October by Ex-Googler Sanmay Ved, and Google has just revealed how much money it paid to get it back.
Seeing the “google.com” is available for purchase with Google domains, Sanmay Vedas owns most iconic domain name for 1 minute only of $12. Seeing what had happened, Google quickly cancel the purchase, and then gave him an undisclosed fee.
Google paid him a sum of $6,006.13 to get it back, the company announced in a blog post. Sanmay Ved donated his award to The Art of Living India, an international NGO, focused on various dimensions such as social transformation, child eduction, women and youth empowerment and when Google heard that he will donate the award to charity Google doubled the amount.
