What Bollywood wants from Budget 2014-15

The film industry is all about glamour and glitz. However, those who put money into film production must also worry about the less glamorous stuff. They want to listen to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said something in the July 10, 2014, when he presented his budget.

Digital Cinema Services:

In 2007, the Group’s digital cinema solution provider for exemption from payment services. When the movie in theaters, producer no longer send out a physical form of movies. They are connected directly to theaters via satellite or microwave beams. Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) recommended that this exemption should continue rather than withdraw with digital technology.

Government imposed a 25% withholding tax royalties and fees from non-resident taxpayer to obtain technical services. This has a direct impact on the company distributed outside India and Indian films distributed foreign films. Insiders hope that this tax is reduced or rationalized.
