There is a huge amount of information in print, on DVD and via e-books for ballet positions, movements and ballet techniques. Most of it is presented beautifully. Ballet photography goes way back to the late 19th century and precious images of early ballerinas and premier danseurs are preserved by them.
Going even earlier in the history of ballet, it has excellent drawings of ballet dancers, choreographers and ballet classes. It’s fantastic that we can now see the performances of ballet companies around the world on DVD. For lovers of ballet, which are not in a big city that is visited by ballet companies regularly, is particularly convenient.
Cecchetti ballet method, the Royal Academy of Dance and the method Vaganova Ballet are the three most popular methods of teaching. Most of the large full-time professional ballet schools combine these styles, but it is not required to use all three grading systems, but by recruitment of lecturers who had trained themselves nicely.
